TMS-2000 accepts the transfer of all daily procurement and shipping activity into its data base. Orders are immediately matched against their vendor/shipper and consignee/customer profiles and categorize into managed types. Managed types such as Backhaul, Vendor Routed, and 3rd Party Managed provide supply chain "buckets" against which detailed data mining can be accomplished. BGI's use of Owner Code designations allows for easy identification and segregation of purchase orders for like vendors with different vendor numbers and different consignee assignments. A comprehensive data base of all vendor and consignee contact information is maintained in TMS-2000. Assignment of managed types, owner codes, vendor groups and auto-routing designations are established at this level. New vendor activity notifications are provided to insure complete vendor profiling is accomplished and new opportunities are captured. Vendor pickup allowances and planned shipping costs are maintained at the vendor level and TMS-2000 provides for multiple allowance structures for each vendor and each vendor ship point/consignee pairing. Allowance calculations including bracket price differentials are accomplished automatically during purchase order import and recalculated at critical event order updates. TMS-2000 provides for unlimited ship-point location entries per vendor. Complete address and contact information for each ship-point is provided and individual pickup allowances by ship point location provides instant visibility for load profitability planning. |
