BGI International Newsletter
June/July 2005

Greetings!

What's New at BGI - BGI has a new web site, URL, and logos. Check it out at www.bgiweb.com. The old URL was www.bgint.com. Any hits to that site will automatically be redirected to the new site URL. (URL is web-speak for Universal Resource Locator.) You'll also notice with the new domain, bgiweb.com, that our email addresses have also changed. For example, support@bgiweb.com is now support@bgiweb.com. While the old addresses still work, it would be best to update your email address book with these changes.

BGI has become a Microsoft Certified Partner - This means that our software conforms with stringent Microsoft requirements and standards. Also, BGI is now a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for Microsoft which means that your company can purchase SQL Server and Client Access Licenses (CAL's) from BGI.

Customer Profile - As a feature each month, we will profile a BGI customer. This month it is Hy-Vee Foods.

A Proud Tradition
Hy-Vee was founded in 1930 by Charles Hyde and David Vredenburg, who opened a small general store in Beaconsfield, IA. In 1938 they incorporated as Hyde & Vredenburg, Inc., with 15 stores and 16 stockholders. The current company name, Hy-Vee, is a contraction of the founders' names.

In those early years, company offices were located in Lamoni, IA. The company moved to Chariton, IA, in 1945 to gain access to rail services, and in 1948 constructed the first office/warehouse complex. The corporate offices moved to West Des Moines in 1995.

From the beginning, Hy-Vee has been employee-owned. Profits are shared with employees through The Hy-Vee and Affiliates Profit Sharing, 401(k) Plan, and a combination of bonus, commission, and incentive systems. Hy-Vee has been a valued customer since the TMS-90 DOS days. Karla Heffron is the traffic department manager at Hy-Vee and has been a great supporter of TMS-2000 and Web Services.
