BGI International Newsletter

April 2004

Greetings!

Some exciting news arrived at BGI this morning.
The Inbound Logistics Magazine editorial team has selected BGI International as a 2004 Top 100 Logistics IT Provider. This article appears in the May 2004 issue of Inbound Logistics, and will be posted on their web site within the next few weeks. www.inboundlogistics.com

To make this decision, Inbound Logistics editors compared and researched more than 300 Logistics IT providers--from the largest, most well-known companies to the smaller niche providers. The main criteria was not size or revenue, but providing logistics IT solutions that best meet their readers' diverse needs. BGI fits that criteria. Thank you for helping to make it so.

Web Services – Phase Two Follow this link to our web site for a short dissertation of what features are in Phase Two of BGI Web Services. Also, see the article within on Progressive Load Tendering for an explanation of specific features supported in Phase Two. http://www.bgint.com/solutions/sub_TMSwebservices.htm

TMS-2000 Tips
Web Services Module and Progressive Load Tendering - Have you ever had a carrier say they didn’t receive a load tender? TMS-2000 Version 5.2 has a feature that allows you to use the Internet to tender loads to carriers. This not only provides a simple communications method to notify carriers, it also provides a way for carriers to confirm the tender back to you. Upon carrier acceptance of a load, your load status in TMS-2000 will automatically be updated to a confirmed status with the date and time stamp of when your carrier accepted the load.

In addition, the word ‘progressive’ means that you can set up multiple carriers to tender to for a single load. User defined time constraints will automatically re-tender the load to the next carrier when expired. TMS-2000 is also notified during each of these steps. There is no more need to bird dog your carriers to phone in when they leave the vendor with a load. Carriers can now communicate actual pick up date and time information through the Internet which automatically updates your TMS-2000 system.

As a TMS-2000 client on BGI Web Services, you now have the ability to search for available carrier equipment. BGI Web Services will display where and when the equipment will be available as well as the carriers desired destination.

Third Party Billing – TMS-2000 Version 5.2 has a completely redesigned and enhanced billing feature. This feature allows you to bill anyone for anything. TMS creates a table of billing data so that repetitious billings are remembered and streamlines. This feature is also available for vendor bill backs.
