BGI International Newsletter
May 2005

Greetings!

Award - BGI has been recognized as a Top 100 Logistics IT company for 2005 by Inbound Logistics Magazine for the second year in a row, thanks to you, our valued customers.

Customer Profile - As a feature each month, we will profile a BGI customer.  This month it is Shamrock Foods.

Shamrock’s rich heritage began when W.T. McClelland immigrated to the U.S. and bought a small dairy business in 1920 to serve a handful of customers in the Tucson area. His wife, Sara Winifred (Winnie) became the bookkeeper and christened the new business Shamrock Dairy. Together, Mr. Mac and Winnie forged an American success story.

After World War II, Shamrock Dairy built a processing plant in Phoenix and launched continuous expansion programs in both facility development and product line. Over the years, the product line has emerged to include frozen foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, fish and institutional foodservice supplies and equipment.

Today, Shamrock Foods Company is the umbrella for Shamrock Farms, the largest dairy in the Southwest, and Shamrock Foods, ranked as the 8th largest broadline foodservice distributor in the U.S. Headquartered in Phoenix, Shamrock sends refrigerated trucks to 9 other states from distribution centers in Phoenix and Commerce City (Denver) Colorado. Shamrock has been a BGI customer since 1997.

Tech Talk - Roaming Profiles

BGI introduces roaming profiles, giving you greater freedom to access your saved searches and preferences from any computer. Before roaming profiles, all of your personal preferences, saved searches, colors, etc. were stored on the primary machine you log in from. If you got a new computer or logged in from someone else's workstation, you had to manually copy your local settings file to that machine. All of these settings are now stored in the database so that you don't have to worry about losing access to saved searches from other PC's. Call BGI Support or email support@bgiweb.com if you are interested learning more about this feature.
